Of course I'm kidding. Your prize is safe and sound, locked up in chains, buried beneath 3 feet of cement.
Here is the photo for Week 9.
Thank goodness the sun is out, eh? In that spirit, this week's prize is 5 books. How does that relate to sunny days? Well, you have to have something to occupy you during all that beach time, right? Besides, these books come to you from the sale shelves at the Kennebunk Free Library - the up and coming HOTSPOT in the Kennebunks, what with the new cafe and all the cool events and activities they are setting up. Did you see that frisbee guy the other night? Whew! So, this is a great little assortment of books. I didn't pick the ones I would read, because I read the most boring and mundane of all books - you wouldn't like them.

Brown Sugar ice cream?! Books!? I want to participate in the photo challenge -- can you start posting photos from either Los Angeles or Ohio? :-)
I forgot to ask -- what types of books do you like to read that you would classify as mundane and unlikable?
I like to read books about regular everyday life in rural America in the 1700's or 1800's. They tend to be about churning butter and cutting wood mostly. A typical climactic moment in one of my books would be, say, so and so's clapboard home burns down on Christmas Eve and all the women get together to make meals and gifts for the needy family. Something like that. Or, sometimes I like books of letters, written in the days when people could really express themselves through the written word.
Oh but those kinds of books ARE great! I also LOVE books of letters. My book club just read 84 Charing Cross Road (have never seen the movie). Letter writing is a lost art.
Right now I've been on a kick reading non-fiction books about food history -- talk about not everyone's cup of tea!
Books are just great.
We have a winner! The answer came in via email. I'll post the location and the winner tomorrow.
