Take Five

Here are three very valuable tidbits for you on a rainy Monday.

1.) I wholeheartedly recommend you try the new Haagen-dazs Brown Sugar ice cream, from their new Five Ingredients line. It's not just a flavor...it's an experience.

2.) This Saturday, head to the Farmer's Market and buy a chicken from Solstice Point Farm.
Then, pop over to the Foxes Ridge Farm booth and grab a jar of their Honey Apricot Jam. Go home and roast your free-range chicken (you'll notice that your hands don't get greasy when you rinse it - hmmm) and glaze it with the jam. I recommend glazing before you remove it from the oven, so the jam gets well cooked (yeah, black) and crispy.
And while you're at it, grab some bok choy from the cool dude (Matt) at Sparrow Arc Farm for your stir-fry, and then you must get a container of Orange Goat Cheese Spread from Anne at Liberty Fields Farm. The Orange Goat Cheese Spread tastes like an orange creamsicle and is SO delicious on your breakfast bagel or as Anne recommends, on your Nilla Wafers. Oooh, a Nilla Wafer and OGCS woopie pie!

3.) And lastly, did you know that the word AVOCADO is Aztec for testicles?
(Sorry, I realize I am pushing the boundary of 'family-friendly' here. Perhaps this will begin that long-overdue conversation with your kids you've been dreading ...)
Happy Monday!
