Under the Warm Blanket of Summer

Yes, it's finally arrived here. And today, after an entire week of rain and thunderstorms, we're very happy to see the sun again. So far, it's been a very nice summer. Only mildly crazy. The kids are on the town track and field team which has been fun for all of us, AJ is playing his ninth or tenth year of softball (who can keep track of the years?), we're spending lots of time outdoors and with friends and just spent the last week doing our annual commute to my family's house up north to visit with aunts, uncles, cousins, spouses, kids and the wide ocean. So far, so good.

Two weeks ago we visited with my Dad and his wife and went to a graduation party for AJ's niece. It was a lovely, relaxed weekend. No rushing, lots of good food and lots of good company. Days on the river and in the speedboat surely help the soul too.

I have a couple of pictures for you finally!

Enjoy!

Couldn't be finer.

Some days it's just too hot to look for a pot of gold.
